Daily Subsistence Allowance for Seafarers Increased to TRY 325

The Seafarers’ Subsistence Allowance Determination Committee of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security convened on 19 February 2025 and resolved to revise the daily subsistence allowance paid to seafarers.

The decision was published in the Official Gazette dated 04 March 2025 and numbered 32831 and entered into force on the same date.

Under the new regulation, the daily cash subsistence allowance for seafarers has been increased from TRY 230 to TRY 325.

Basis of the Regulation

In its assessment, the Committee noted that the increase in food prices had rendered the existing allowance insufficient to meet the daily nutritional needs of seafarers.

The determination of the new allowance amount was based on the arithmetic averages of food composition prices for 2024, derived from research conducted in the following provinces:

• Antalya

• Istanbul

• Izmir

• Samsun

• Trabzon

In addition, existing employment contracts and collective bargaining agreements concerning subsistence allowances provided to seafarers were also taken into account.

Scope of Application

The newly determined daily subsistence allowance of TRY 325 will apply to all coastal regions and inland waters and was adopted unanimously by the Committee.edeli, tüm sahil mıntıkaları ve göllerde uygulanmak üzere oy birliği ile kabul edilmiştir.
